The small Shropshire village of Llanfair Waterdine lies on the north side of the Teme valley barely 4 miles north west of Knighton. The village lies in beautiful countryside on the southern edge of the Clun Forest and made use of the vast open countryside to host its own races in the last days of the 1700s. The two day meeting took place on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th September 1799. The Fifty Pounds Cup was won by Harlot, while later in the meeting the Silver Cup saw Bwich Golla defeat Jack-of-Llanfair to secure a Silver Cup for owner Mr Rogers. There are no further records of meetings taking place in the village.
